Elle’s Secret Garden is the work of a self-taught artist who began painting over 35 years ago while raising her two young children. What started as a way to nurture her creativity, grew into a lifelong exploration of imagined secret spaces and delicate details, all rooted in her love of nature.

Elle draws inspiration from her childhood, spent among wildflowers, where the natural world felt full of wonder and hidden stories. Her paintings, created mostly in watercolour, are whimsical and dreamlike.

Her work invites you to feel something personal. Often painted in portrait orientation, her scenes draw the viewer into imagining what lies further beyond - a path, a clearing, perhaps even something magical, the kind of scenes where fairies might live just out of view.

Elle was born in Sherborne, Dorset, where a love of nature and wildflowers first began to shape her imagination. This site is a place to share her work - a quiet corner where her secret garden can bloom.
